Bio

A former journalist and and free-lance writer, my articles have appeared in The New York Times, the Boston Globe Sunday Magazine, Redbook, Child, Parenting, Parents and Commonweal, among others. I began my nonprofit career as Member Services and Grants Manager at the Arts and Cultural Council for Greater Rochester (NY), where I managed state, municipal and private grant programs for artists and arts organizations. I was then hired to create the grants department and manage government relations for Heritage Christian Services, a $55 million human services organization in upstate New York supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. After relocating with my family to the Merrimack Valley in 2009, I served as Assistant Manager for Grants and Services at the Essex County Community Foundation. I now work as Co-Director of Development at the YWCA of Greater Lawrence, where my responsibilities include grant writing, fundraising and community relations.
