BARRIE J. ATKIN has over 25 years solving marketing, fundraising and strategy challenges in large and small organizations, with a special focus on strategic planning for consumer marketers, publishers, associations and not-for-profit organizations. For fifteen years, she has been President of Atkin Associates LLC, a strategy and marketing consultancy that emphasizes insights, analysis, strategy, and solutions. Barrie has worked with dozens of start-ups. She has personally written more than sixty business plans, many of which led to funding. She has consulted to over 100 organizations, ranging from technology companies, to consumer products and services and sports organizations. As Director of Corporate Planning at Rodale Press, she helped put into place a company-wide business planning process. She wrote the business-plan for Mens' Health Magazine, a publishing success story. As Executive Director, Consumer Marketing at TV Guide Magazine, Barrie pioneered new methods to acquire and retain customers. As Executive Producer for the award-winning film Gen Silent, she helped raise funds and create events that led to international awareness.
