Green Bikes of Lowell
Class: 2013 Winter Accelerator
A bicycle share program in Lowell, green and fun transportation. Along with a supporting web application to make bike sharing fun, unique, and affordable. The goal is to have bicycles around Lowell in Spring of 2013!!
Now that the holidays are coming around and it will be hard to schedule meetings until after the New Year, I might as well spend some time finishing the logo and making a website.
Started discussing with mentors what is a good strategy with the website, and I've decided to use it as a marketing tool while also trying to collect some data about people's habits, where they want the bikes, where they will use them, how much they are willing to pay, and some other hot topics.
The website will be http://GreenBikesofLowell.com if you go there now you can sign up for the newsletter. Do it! You know you want to!
The only problem is I’m very picky when it comes to websites and how they function/look so it’s more work than it should be. I already scratched one whole theme I built up that I thought was what I wanted…. But alas, I started a new one! I could add a screen shot…… But I want it to be close to the finished project… sssooo… not yet. Check back.
First meeting with individual Mentor’s went very well. Strategized what each mentor can help me with and what goals need to be done to move forward with business.
Became very confident in mentor selection and could not have done it without Sandbox’s amazing network capabilities!
Once I met individually with each mentor, we had a team meet-up. It was intense! Got great ideas, paths, finalized three goals, and strategizes of moving forward. Received encouragement that my hard-work thus far has been fruitful and I already have some decent data and primary marketing. Now it’s time to test the market and do some secondary marketing, try to get people excited about Green Bikes of Lowell coming and see if we can start getting some pre-registrations or at least commitments. The combined 4 meetings were all in one week, So it ended being an intense week!

I really am just so grateful. Grateful for this amazing organization, for the programs it puts on, and for the amazing staff that make everything happen, and happen smoothly. I'm so thankful for this accelerator program, for the workshops, the mentors, the guest speakers, the entrepreneurs that share with each-other, and even grateful for the food and coffee! Of course I'm thankful for the Deshpande Foundation, and specially Gururaj Deshpande. THANK YOU to everyone involved, even if I didn't mention you, THANK YOU!!
The first week of the accelerator was very eye opening about creating value for the potential cutomers and really figuring out my value proposition. Coming up with new ways to do market research, I went back into the community with new questions, and trying to find out if I can solve their "pains". While doing some new market research, I was also trying to meet with as many mentors as I could as to choose the best mentors for my cause. Meeting with so many mentors was no easy task, and even harder choosing which Mentors to go for!! But no matter, the Sandbox did such a great job getting these Mentors that whomever I get I know I will be able to benefit from their experience. Thanks again for choosing Green Bikes of Lowell for the accelerator program, we will be stratagizing our go-to market plan.
Really enjoyed meeting great people at the Mentor Mixer tonight. Whether we met or not, please feel free to message me with any questions, advice, interests, recommendations, really anything. Looking forward to strengthening some relationships.
